Simon Taylor is an expert litigation & dispute resolution lawyer

About

Conciliatory where necessary, when it comes to dealing with bullies, he is aggressive in pursuing a client’s rights – more of an attack dog than a lapdog. His aim is not to be the loudest in the room but the smartest and most reasonable person. He has learned that this approach is more effective and achieves a better outcome for his clients.
Simon has been practising as a litigation lawyer since 1999, working first for large city firms and later managing his own medium-sized legal practice on the Gold Coast for almost 10 years. His experience covers various areas from complex building and construction contracts and security of payment disputes to company director and shareholder injunctions, and damages proceedings. He is also skilled at resolving family estate disputes that come with decades of history to unravel and resolve

Benefits of dealing with Simon Taylor

While experience and expertise are valuable if you’re engaging a litigation solicitor, there is a more compelling reason to employ Simon to work on your behalf: speed.

Simon is well-known for his speed of delivery that vastly exceeds that of most other lawyers with whom he’s had dealings. It’s due to this decisiveness and laser focus that his clients, delighted with the ease of dealing with Simon, never leave.

Speed matters in litigation!

If you’ve ever been involved in a dispute or had to go to court, you’ll understand that one of the worst parts is waiting: waiting for documentation, waiting for your lawyer to tell you what’s happening and, should you need to take a matter all the way, waiting for a court date. When the process is sped up, you have less stress and can get your life and business back on track faster.
Simon has a detailed legal knowledge of the inner workings of local government councils, especially the Gold Coast City Council. While acting as a Local Government Prosecutor for seven years, he worked on a wide variety of prosecutions including complex planning and environment proceedings relating to development and compliance. This inside knowledge can now be used to your advantage should you find the local council requirements unnecessarily oppressive and restrictive.

Tailored dispute and litigation advice for every budget.

At Simon Taylor Solicitor, we pride ourselves on always trying to offer clients an outcome – no matter what challenges you face financially or personally. Simon Taylor is acutely aware that he needs to adapt to each client’s needs. We revel in taking on cases that other lawyers reject as too difficult or that they believe can’t be resolved within the available budget.

How We Work With You

1. Meeting and instructions - We meet, take preliminary instructions and give you an estimate of fees for the service. When we agree on the fee structure, we proceed to stage 2.

2. Appropriate action - We take more detailed instructions regarding your case and decide on an appropriate response. This could be anything from a letter of demand to progressing straight to Court proceedings.

3. Negotiation - Throughout the process, you have the opportunity to negotiate, via our experienced lawyers, with the relevant parties in order to make attempts to settle the dispute as quickly and expeditiously as possible.

4. Representation - Should a Court order settlement conference, mediation or final hearing be unavoidable, our dispute legal team provides you with robust representation and support required up to the conclusion of your matter.

5. Enforcement for default - Once the matter is concluded, our team advises you on enforcement should the other party in the dispute default on any agreement or order obtained through the legal process.
